Buses

BUSES

You know how you can wait at a bus stop,
and there isn’t a bus for like, half an hour.
Then three try and cram themselves into the bay,
and you can’t see where each one’s going.

So you try and figure out where the 110 goes,
and the 443 has buggered off somewhere else!
Suppose it can’t bring everything to a standstill, just for you.
Kinda like love huh?

So I’m stood at the station, been there for quite a while,
And four or five buses turn up,
But their numbers are all fuzzy,
and I’m not sure where each goes.

Spose that shouldn’t matter, right?
It’s all about the journey, and learning.
Not where it gets you in the end.
But you really don’t wanna take the wrong bus.

I mean, you wanna pick a reliable bus,
And one that gets you to somewhere you’ll be happy.
What if it breaks down? (that’s why I don’t want the 127)
I don’t see that one going anywhere.

I guess the question is,
Which bus do you fancy?
So, the real question is,
Which goes to the train station…

Then you can pick a train, after you’ve finished with the bus.
And now that’s even harder,
Trains travel further, and they’re faster,
More serious. So you really gotta pick a good one…

And, then you can get a train to the airport,
And you don’t want a return ticket,
It’ll only bring you back to the train station,
And that’s a dead end back to the buses.

So pick a bus,
Get where you want to be,
If you don’t end up at the train station,
Good for you. But has that bus got you anywhere?

Is this really making sense?
I’m still trying to pick a bus,
The stupid things give no directions,
But the 323 looks interesting, double decker…
