If only i had answered

I woke up that morning with you on my mind
just like you were when i went to sleep last night
Earlier than usual is when i arrived to school
I was there by 7:42
I danced in mirror humming our song
Then my stomac dropped like something was wrong
I ignored it and pictured your smile
to keep me from worrying for a while
After class had started you called my cell
I just turned it off and said oh well
I sat there and daydreamed about you and me
I looked into the future and saw we would always be
At lunch came your best friend
He sat me down and grabbed my hand
He was on the ground dying
he told me to call you..said your voice would stop the crying
but you didnt pick up
your ringer wasnt loud enough
somebody had shot him he was hit four times
he told me to let you know you were the last one on his mind.
I felt my heart come up out my mouth
And at first all i did was doubt
I tried not to believe it but it was true
My boyfriend was shot that morning 7:42
If only i had answered
I could of heard his voice
But i didnt i took my other choice
