Poetry Chaos

by Hannah M.   Jul 27, 2004

Spitting out
these endless words
on this paper
They run about

They run and hide
as I try to make
sentences and words
Yet they all collide

Making such
a blurry mess
it hurts the eyes
And burns the touch

What an explosion
of this stuff
it's so fatal
So much confusion

What I tried
to string together
is now gone
It has all been fried

I had some rhymes
a few good things
a little flow
It was like old times

But these words will not go
they fight and struggle
they just won't bond
And let it flow

The words are playing
hide and seek
they all hide
Away they are staying

Ding-Dong ditch
they play with my mind
they won't listen
To the design I pitch

What do I care
go and hide!
I will find you
And get my share

Soon I will catch
all my words
my poetry I'll fix,
This hole, I'll patch

The words will return
to their place
that one big mess
I will burn

So once again
I will make sense
able to write
with pencil and pen
