Resemblence of thy rose

by Katana   Jul 28, 2004

Have you ever gazed upon a rose?
And thought how much it resembled love,
How the deep scarlet plunges into your mind,
Yet reminds you of something wrong.
Have you ever touched the soft petals?
So smooth like compassion must feel,
But kind of odd as your stroke the petal,
It fades away like adoring hearts.
Have you ever grasped a rose in your hand?
And felt the warm feeling within,
Yet as soon as you let hte stem fall from your grasp,
Blood seeps through your tainted skin.
Have you ever thought of the colors in a rose?
And see how the pastels warm your heart,
But as soon as the flower dies softly,
It's a shade of deadly black.
Have you ever really observed a rose?
To see the true meaning of ite purpose,
For the red resembles the love one must feel,
But the thorns of the rose prick thy skin,
So love remains as a rose of light and dark...
