Father

How can I repay you for what you've done in my life?
How can I say thank you for saving me
From the life that I once had
A life of lies, deceit and of pain
A life that once seemed normal
But now thankfully a stranger to me
You rescued me when I was at my lowest
You picked me up on that day of pain
And held me in your arms
Just when I thought there was no hope for me
I heard the words:
“Don't worry my child for I love you”
And I knew at that moment
My life was complete
As I look back now at my once lived life
I know that I never would have lasted much longer
And I thank God everyday for picking me up
And holding me in his arms
Telling me he loves me
