The story of my scars

I have done it everyday as long as i can remember
it's been a part of me that I'll never be able to leave
because the evidence lies there in my arms
the scars
they will never fade and never go away
they will be there till i die
but i continue to add to them
i can not will not stop
it's the only pain i can control
and that pain will never stop
i wear my hoodie and my long shirts
but everyone knows there still there
but that's not why i hide them

i hide them because they are mine
and only mine to see
no one else can understand them
to them they don't mean a thing

but to me they are a story
the story of my life
because no matter what
they are all I'll have the rest of my life
