Staring at the sun

by Mild insomnia   Jul 29, 2004

Lost in thought, and lost in time.
Drowning in a state of mind.
Losing track of why I’m here.
All my feelings are unclear.
Tell me nothing, for I’ll forget.
I’m spinning round, losing my head.
Please forgive me, I’m not myself,
Share your secrets with someone else.

Don’t try to wake me.
Don’t try to save me.
Don’t wait for me.

Am I the only one, staring at the sun?
Wondering why,
Why I can’t show what’s inside.
I’ve come undone, staring at the sun.
I’m scared of what you’ll find,
If you see deep down inside.

Dreaming on, lost in a haze,
Houston calling to outer-space,
But I’m not there; I’m too far-gone,
Bet you’re wondering what is wrong.
Nothing’s wrong, I’m just distressed.
I’m losing grip; I’ve lost my head.
Too high up I can’t come down,
My feet’ll never touch the ground.

Am I the only one, staring at the sun?
Wondering why,
Why I can’t show what’s inside.
I’ve come undone, staring at the sun.
I’m scared of what you’ll find,
If you see deep down inside.

It’s not the place; it’s not the time.
Don’t speak to me, in this state of mind.
I can’t control what I may show,
I hope my feelings do not grow.
Cos I’m not here, I cannot hide,
What I feel deep down inside.
Don’t want you to find out,
What I wanna scream and shout.
