Love Lives On

by Ten Feet Tall   Jul 29, 2004

I miss you my friend
Oh so very much.
How I long for your smile,
And long for your touch.

Although I haven't seen you,
My love for you will not fade.
I remember you always,
With the friendship that we made.

When life isn't going right,
I'll remember what you used to say,

"Please don't get mad at me
When you've had a rough day.
I'll always be here for you
As long as you let me stay."

I'll always allow you to stay,
But it's hard when you're not here.
I'll remember your face with a picture,
But the rest is becoming unclear.

The sound of you laughter,
The love of your embrace,
Is slowly being forgotten,
In this abandoned place.

The picture will fade,
And your memory too.
But what will live on,
Is my love for you.

Excellent poem. I'm kinda feeling that right now w/a friend that i love so much in not just as a friend but more. He's actually the one that my poem I Want to Be (which I believe you have commented on) is written for. I only wish I had the guts to show him...but anyhow excellent poem.

I really liked the rhyming that you pulled off, it was very skillful. However, this line:
    Thou sound of you laughter,
didn't make sense to me. Is it supposed to be "The sound of your laughter," ?
