MDA

M, is for the Muscles, of many girls and boys,
D, is for Determination, that everyone employs,
A, is for the Association, and for what it brings,
it brings a lot of smiles, it breaks a lot of strings,
it breaks the strings of helplessness, and the feelings of despair,
it washes away many fears and does it with a lot of care,
when many band together, to fight as if we're one,
we fight with determination, until the battle has been won,
we fight in many arenas, we fight till we prevail,
the battle won't be over, till these diseases are known to fail,
so open up your hearts and your wallets too,
remember that your money, helps people just like you,
someone may need a wheel chair, or a walker strong and true,
some may need a leg brace just to help them stand,
all of them need doctors, to give them a helping hand,
there is little Tommy with his shriveled leg,
yet he doesn't whimper, and you don't hear him beg,
there is this special lady, lets call her Cindy Sue,
she is quite a writer, and she has MD. too,
most of these afflictions strike right out of the blue,
you never know who is next, that someone might be you,
it hurts the very richest, it hurts the very poor,
it hurts the very strongest too, it knocks at any door,
so friends think of the help, that every dollar brings,
and listen to Jerry Lewis, as this song he sings,
"YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE",
until Muscular Dystrophy is completely gone
reach down in your wallet, reach down really deep,
and hopefully one day soon, M D A can go to sleep.
