On That Warm September Day

by butterfly ♥ kisses   Jul 31, 2004

Once there was a boy named Noah
Who went out to play
On that warm September day.

He didn't see the car as it swerved his way.
Suddenly there was a crash
As people rushed to his aide.

They should have slowed down.
If they had,
He would still be here.

He looks down from Heaven
As he hears the cries
And sees the tears.

The person in the car had been drinking
On that warm September day.

Because he wasn't thinking,
Noah's the one who will pay.

A blanket is put over his face
As Noah is wheeled away.

He sees the boy from the car,
Standing in shock,
Not knowing what to say.

He knew who the boy was
When he saw the tears fall from his face.

"That's my brother!" Noah cried
As the angels took him away.

He should have known better
Instead Noah lost his life.

All because his brother
Decided to drink and drive.

Geez... :-( Wow. My ex boyfriend brother accidently hit his little brother. He died :-( It was one of the saddest things. I have a poem about it. It's called. "never forgiven" you can check it out if you want...

Excellent poem by the way. Very well written...
