Short Cut

by {Ms. Felicia}   Aug 1, 2004

I was driving and wanted to get to school fast
There was a read with a sign saying do not pass
I was in a hurry and traffic was bad
So I made a quick left and took the path instead
I could see school right up head
I was so happy I passed everyone along the way
I saw my friend pull into the school almost there
What should I do there where two streets on a main road with a stop sign
The other a construction road that looked to be empty and less drive
Well you know me I went strait trough I took the construction road
As I zoomed along the road, I did not see the cement truck pull in front of me
As I slammed on my breaks I slid across the road and slammed into a wall
And I was knocked unconscious, every one got to school that day
Cause they took the time to go the right way
But, because I was in a hurry and didn’t care what the sign said I wanted to pass everyone
And that's what I did I got the longer road ahead now cause of my short cut
I’m almost dead.

I know that its a short story more than a poem but im just trying to show and tell everyone that short cuts in life arent always short take your time and do it right.
