Now that I look back on times
I realize you weren’t there most of my life
There were a lot of times you weren’t there
Or times you just acted like you care
You made me the person I am today
Scared of everything you do and say
Scared if I do one wrong thing
What the punishment it could bring
Every time you hit me you say this is to help
And all I could hear was you scream and yell
Never have I heard the words of encouragement
And all the those times together we never spent
Now in life i'm to worried about perfection
To even love all the good things in my direction
I mean I want to love my girlfriend to the fullest i’m just scared
That if I love her with all my heart she won’t always be there
Because its the same thing that happened with you
I loved you all my life and this is what you do
Leaving all these mark on my life, heart, face, and arms
And you say your here to protect me from harm
I remember I was crying shaking and praying you’d stop
I bet all this makes you fell on top
I never wanted you to go to my ball games
Because every time I messed up I saw the disappoint in your eyes with only me to blame
Remember when I was a kid and I would pee in my pants
You use to tell me do it again and ill spank you until you cant stand
I use to tremble whenever you raised your hand
But I know you love me people don’t understand
That your just trying to teach me wrong from right
Trying to help me get through all my struggles and fights
But still to this day I have no clue
Why I can still tell you at night that I love you
But I do it because I know you don’t mean to hurt me
And I know one day you will see
Everything you have done to me
Will show me the father I don’t want to be
But don’t worry dad I forgive you for all you've done
So even in the end dad you have still won
