Did Not Wake Up

by Slaughtered Pixie   Aug 2, 2004

We did not find out
Until two days after
I saw no smiles
I heard no laughter

Your Uncle Bill died
He had a heart attack
Oh God, why do you hate me?
Can we not have him back?

He was so fun
And was high on life
But this pain aches
Like 1,000 stabbing knives

He was a looker
Looking like a celebrity
He looked like Mel Gibson
And he loved my Aunt Jenny

It is hardest on her
And I sincerely feel her pain
She went to quietly wake him up
And ended up shouting his name

BILL BILL!
PLEASE WAKE UP!!!
She panicked
His eyes would not open up

He told the kids
Ibuprofen I will take
I am going to nap
I have a severe headache

The kids did not think anything of it
And let him go sleep
Aunt Jenny saw him five hours later
And intensely weeped

He was taken too soon
He was only thirty-eight
I hope he is somewhere up there
But I miss him with a deal so great

I love him with all my heart
And I always will
All I know is
Is I miss my Uncle Bill

*In loving memory of: William Michael Connor*

Hey good poem, But it should be ''He was taken to soon'' not he was 'tooken'. But alright poem otherwise, I'm sorry about your uncle. Keep writing
