Gone But Holding On

by Eman D   Aug 2, 2004

I just realized it.
Imiss you.
I didn't want us to come apart.
I lace up my shoe.

I open the dorr.
But I don't go outside.
This is not my home.
I can't swallow my pride.

I need you.
I want to be there.
I can't let go.
Now I Know why they say life isn't fair.

There is nothing here.
This bed doesn't feel the same.
Do you even know I'm gone?
I was shy when I first came.

I grew to love.
I had you tightly gripped.
My hand opened.
Then you just slipped.
