A Love I Have Never Once Met

How is it that I have never once met you,
But yet that you have my whole heart and soul?

To me you are that star that shines so bright,
The only one I can spot in the darkness of the night.
To me you are that ocean that stretches out before me,
The one whose waves give me reason to see.
To me you are that person that always reappeared in my dream,
The one that made my frown into a smile and made my face beam.

As I sit outside and watch the sun set,
I will be thinking of you, the person I have never met.
I always wonder does he think about me too?
Needless to say that I am thinking of you.
I am so tired of being lonely and blue,
But I am always smiling when I think about you.

I have wanted for so long to tell you that you make me whole,
But I was so afraid to explain what is buried deep in my soul.
But now it is time for you to know the truth about my heart,
Even though telling you this may cause us to be even further apart.
I have held these feelings deep inside me,
But now I think you should see.

I think of you like an angel, one from heavens sky,
I always thanked god that I knew you, but yet I never wondered why.
I have always wished that you would hold me close,
The times when I am alone are the times I miss you the most.
Until I finally meet you my heart will beat slow,
Trying to prepare for the possibility of an unfortunate blow.

Finally I have told you how I feel, now my heart feels a little lighter,
And my smile can shine a little brighter.
Though I may not have actually met you,
I can’t help but hope you feel the same way I do.
Its finally off my chest and now you know its you I love,
But I still haven’t seen that sign from above.

Sometimes I wonder if you will ever know how I feel,
It pains me to know that this love may never be real.
I hope that one-day
I’ll throw these nerves away
Because I will tell you what’s in my heart
And then we will never part.
