My Reality

by Brittany   Aug 3, 2004

I dreamt a dream about me and you, walking up and down a beach, just us two.

The last of the sun's rays setting against our faces, our fingers loop and my heart races.

Were talking about our future plans, and you suddenly stop and grab both my hands.

You tell me you love me and you'll always care, and what a beautiful life together we could share.

You drop to one knee and pull out a ring, tears to my eyes I knew this would bring.

You pop the question every man fears, the anticipation of my answer brings you to tears.

I burst out the answer I know you're looking for, I realize that I'll never love anyone else more.

Then I open my eyes and see my clock, and from the door downstairs I hear a knock.

You're standing there, flowers in your hand, And in the front yard there is a band.

I hear them playing my favorite song, and I convince myself something must be wrong.

But nothing is wrong, everything is right, the perfect weather of this night, and the moon shining so bright.

You ask me then, with tears in your eyes, and I answer to your request before I realize,

That reality is far greater than dreams, but nothing is ever what it seems.

But this is real, and we dance together in the moonlight, everything in my reality is so right.
