Burning embers

by Just a girl   Aug 4, 2004

Burning brightly; red, yellow and orange flames dancing in the atmosphere.
Tasting the salty sweat dripping from my face from the humidity of the air.

I feel the hot ground burning beneath my feet, crackling and burning, the flames reaching high.

Water hoses are fighting the flames, lost people are yelling for help.

I smell death, sorrow and burning flesh;
the hot ash within the air, Smoke arising from the ground.

I glance over at a large mass o ash and brick solemnly acknowledging that was once my house. I stand grieving and crying for the love i have lost.

I feel sorrowful, lost and betrayed..
I've lost my loved ones to the deadly flames...

    Sadly this actually happened to a friend of mine but not all family members perished. Very sadly her brother died in the fire ;_;
