Tormented

by SarZz   Aug 4, 2004

I'm staring at myself,
As I stand next to the mirror,
i see a dusky damsel,
Who's moving steadily near,

her lips are turned downwards,
her eyes-Belabour the tale,
She's suppressing a deep sigh,
Defeated and pale,

I'm spraying water,
On the glass that shows her face,
She just can't face herself,
The visions are blurred of the chaste,

I'm wiping away the mist,
Expecting a better view,
But it's terrible than before,
The thing she already knew,

Her lips are moving,
But the words are too unclear,
Perhaps she's asking why,
Why did it happen to her,

Her dark hair,
Obscuring her scarred features,
Her kohled eyes,
Have nights trapped inside,

But she's tormented,
She's moving away,
Rejected and dis-hearted,
I search of a sunlit day...

It was a good, though sad, poem (duh it's in the sad section). I have no idea what "kohled" means though. Is it a real word? I couldn't find it in the dictionary, but maybe it is either a technical word (like a medical one) or it is a colloquial expression. Could you explain that sometime?
