Goodbye, my friend

by Timothy   Aug 4, 2004

A head hung low,
I'm in a numbing trance;
I cannot recall what day it is,
I am in a bewildered stance.

He was my best friend,
Those words do not effectively apply;
He knew my hopes, my dreams, and every word to make me laugh,
He knew how to burn away the fog...and light up the sky.

I was there for him,
When his father left his marks;
I was there for him,
When all his world was dark.

He was there for me,
When I fell in love, but was too shy;
He was there for me,
When my brother died, and i could not cry.

We have always held each other up,
Through the darkness and the light;
But when a drunk driver hit our car,
I could not go with him into the night.
