Your silence kills me

The silence within you makes my heart shatter,
makes me wonder to you do i even matter?

I'd rather be called every name under the sun,
you can see how it hurts me do you find it fun?

all i whispered was the small word, "why?"
i thought i deserved a reason for your sudden goodbye.

i let you in and let myself go with you,
yet it wasn't enough so you found someone new.

yet it wasn't someone new but a friend of old,
this knowledge left me sad and cold.

this news made me immediately sink,
i felt used and hurt what did you think?

it made me ask myself did you even care,
i thought we had something good but your heart was never there.

the sweet words of comfort must have all been lies,
i gave you my heart, now what will you do with your prize?

i can't shake off the feeling that there's something wrong with me,
why else would you leave when you said we were meant to be?

and still, silence is the only thing there,
you just won't speak so i guess you never really cared.
