Pseudo Euphoria (Kyrielle Sonnet)

by Brandon Evans   Aug 4, 2004

Trapped in the cage of endless routine
Mental paintings... A black and white scene
Determination fades with will to survive
Though I live, I’m still not alive

Wrapped in self-pity; stone throw from hate
Alone in the shadows, I sit and I wait
Praying for mercy and death to arrive
Though I live, I’m still not alive

Pseudo euphoria, portrayed with chagrin
Life left abandoned; no chance to begin
Heart an icy tomb, never to revive
Though I live, I’m still not alive

Trapped in the cage of endless routine
Though I live, I’m still not alive
