The Eyes

by Jacki   Aug 5, 2004

Something strange is going on,
the villagers do say.
Something strange is going on,
Down at old St. Joseph's Church.

There are no windows
where eyes gaze from.
Threw them a red streak.

They first appeared back in 1921,
grew a crowd of over 12 thousand.

The priest have tried everything
they know.
Even sprinkled some flour
about the belfry,
in hopes that footprints would be found

But there is no explanation to these
eyes that peer.
Go to Henry Street, a half block west of Baldwin Avenue.

Gaze upon the Cats eyes
that will one day hopefully
disappear.

I love your supernatural poems. This one kinda scared me at the first part though because of the town "St. Joseph" and I live not 20 miles from a town with that same name. Great poem. Take care~
