The Right Kind Of Imperfect

by Morgan   Aug 5, 2004

Some angels have broken wings
Most roses have thorns
But they're still beautiful
And they're still adored

Our relationship has had troubles
We've both been broken
Even though the bleeding has stopped
We still feel the pricks of words spoken

We can't be perfect
Imperfection is seen through other's eyes
But we are able to see perfection
Through all the hurtful lies

We've been through so much
And the obstacles were hard to overcome
But I know we'll get through the rest
Because we've already experienced some

We can both be stubborn and difficult
We love to fight
But after we do, we realize we're in love
And every thing's alright

We know we have to work at it
We must tend to each other's wounds
But with every healed wing
A new rose blooms

We can't avoid the thorns
But can file them away
We can teach each other to fly
And then everything will be okay

And because we don't need
To be perfect to anyone
I know we'll overcome the obstacles
Making two—one
