Off To Nowhere

by Morgan   Aug 5, 2004

I’m heading off to nowhere
Where people won’t know me
Where I won’t have to pretend
Where I can be free

Packing my bags
I’m ready to leave
I blast my stereo
And turn off the TV

I open the window
Leave a not on my bed
Telling you if I stayed any longer
I’d end up dead

I climb onto the roof
Throwing my bags to the ground
I jump off to the grass
And take a look around

I feel free now
All too ready to go
I sit there on the curb
Waiting for my ride to show

But as I wait
I look back into the home
Where I grew up
Where I felt most alone

Mom, I wish I could tell you
This is for the best
In that house I didn’t feel safe
I was only a temporary visitor; your guest

So many bruises
Many more scars
All the childhood memories
The pain that led me too far…

My ride comes
So I grab my sack
I get into the car
And I don’t ever look back

~*~Dedicated to all those who want to be free
For all those who are just like me~*~
