Walking With Me

by Morgan   Aug 5, 2004

Dear God, if you're really there
Would you please answer my prayer
Save me from what's going on
Save me before I'm long gone
So many answers in which I seek
But I only find tears staining my cheeks
Close my eyes and in you I confide
Hold my hand and stand by my side
Help me overcome these obstacles ahead
Help me release my doubts and my dread
Lead me to a place where the grass isn't green
Because I can't wish for better, if better I haven't seen
Wash away the aches that make me restless
This is my hypothesis, let me test this
I'll tell you my problems while you listen up above
And as I work hard, I'll gain your trust and love
I'm no longer my mother's child
But I've been yours for a while
Love is blind, so lead me
Stop my heart from bleeding
I just need to know you will be my helping hand
Yours are the only foot prints in the sand
So carry me, God, help me through this period of time
Help me reclaim this life I call mine
