Utter confusion

My mind seemed so empty,
So shattered was my heart,
the ground that I once walked upon,
Seemed to rip apart,

The sky that was above me,
Always poured down rain,
You always seemed to break my heart,
Time and time again,

The world was against me,
I had no love to share,
Beaten down and bruised,
Did anybody care?

My imagination wandered,
It kind of made me scared,
Thinking about the future,
I was not prepared,

I wanted to run away,
but where could I run to,
I would fall asleep at night,
my dreams would leave me answers,

I was always scared to wake,
In case these dreams were true,
My dreams would show a face,
and the face belonged to you...
