Lost My Angel

by DMG   Aug 8, 2004

Have you ever wondered how magicians do their tricks?
Or how a student of karate can punch through bricks?
Well the same mystery goes for the quest of love.
Will you ever find your angel sent from above?
The answer is unknown, but I'll tell you this.
You'll know if love exists in your first shared kiss.
I did, and now I miss those lips I left.
Ignorance turned me into a love theft.
I had a girl and we hit it off from the first day.
Every night in bed I blew a kiss her way.
But I was stupid, didn't realize what I had.
And now that it's gone I want it back so bad.

It all began on the phone, spoke to her one night.
From the time of sunset to the time of sunlight.
From then on, we spoke to each other everyday.
I knew God had sent an angel my way.
For months love was shown, holding hands.
Kissing as we lied on the wet shore sands.
Dinners by candlelight, movies by dark.
Walking together, side by side in the park.
It was wonderful, the girl of all my affection
I really believed our love had reached perfection.
But then things began to retrogress.
We wanted things to work and we tried our best.
Our phone conversations began to sadden.
Little things here and there began to madden.
Everything was downhill from that point on,
Destruction of our love like a nuclear bomb.
But even when it ended which was recently,
I still felt in love so very completely.
And even as I sit and write this here,
I dream of the times when she was near.
When our loving hearts were intertwined.
When her loving eyes sparkled and shined.
What happened to our perfect love?
How did I lose my angel from above?

I know how you feel D, but you have to ask yourself "Was she really your angel or was she just wearing a disguise?"
