I'll Be Home Soon

by Zachariah Jones   Aug 9, 2004

It seems like forever since I’ve seen you last
A lifetime has slipped away and grown together
Embracing the cold starry nights and the emptiness inside
Staring up at the bright and beckoning moon
Cold breath escapes my lonely lips, cracked smile, bleeding eyes
Crying gallons of cold and stormy tears
Broken dreams and tormenting sleep, breaking down
Falling down on my knees, why does it hurt so much?
Blistering horizons, bleeding skies, blood shot eyes
Interrupted dreams of past experiences, the times we shared
Digging my nails into my skin, poking the bruise on my heart
Why does it hurt so much? Why do I feel so broken inside?
A part of me has been wrenched away, taken and put on a shelf
Don’t you worry, don’t you fret, remember the times we said we wouldn’t forget
Don’t you cry or feel sad, don’t feel alone, stepping out of that cocoon
I’ll be back, I’ll be home soon
