Constellation

by Zachariah Jones   Aug 9, 2004

Dusk falls and the stars peek out of the ashen sky
Sunlight fades and darkness takes its watch over the earth
The Sun slumbers while the moon takes over to play
Stars appear like a million lighters at a concert
Invading the inked sky, making new designs
Every night a new star is tattooed in the sky
Look to the north and find the Big Dipper
It’s the constellation I always look at when I try to find my way back
My way back home is clouded and shrouded in sadness
The curtains to this great and happy screenplay are pulled
A great and romantic tragedy takes the stage next
I know that you’re a stargazer, so promise me when I’m away
Look into the night sky and stare into the vast expanse of infinity
Because you know that I’m doing the same thing
I want you to know that when you see the Big Dipper, think of me
If I could tell you how much that I miss you and love you
It would overflow the Big Dipper and pour over you
When you look into the night sky, think of me watching over you
