Memory

by Christy Carpenter   Aug 9, 2004

As I look above me into the deep black night,
I can see your sparkling eyes.
I think of all our memories, good and bad,
I think, and I start to cry.

I had to watch you suffer
As a result of a mistake.
I hate knowing its because of me,
But I'm grateful you forgave.

After all the bad times I put you through,
You have still stayed with me.
I'm glad it all worked out,
But I regret having to give you your wings.
