I will never know

by Robert Zaragoza   Aug 9, 2004

The waves on your hair bring

comfort to my hands. A thousand

days of work would cause no

different. Looking into your eyes

shows to me a life everlasting. A

life that holds the key to lifelong

peace on earth. A life I perceive

through my eyes to be so simple

yet so complicated, I know I will

never fully understand what gift

God had created for the world. Your

beauty is not only skindeep. There

is an enigma within you that drives

you to be free yet you tie it down

in order to help those less

fortunate. Hope is what you exert

to many, including me. There is a

correlation between you and the

stars. Were is not for your

existence, I would never see the

stars shining so bright. Will I ever

fully know you? The answer is no. I

can see what I can only see. I can

touch what I can only touch. What

goes on in your mind I cannot dive

into and experience what you

experience. When I am without

you, I can only rely on my

experiences, not yours and mines

put together to form into one. This

is just the tiniest, microscopic prick

of knowledge that will forever be a

mystery to me. You are infinite. No

human being can ever store so

much inside them for it would lead

them to and end. God gave me

the ability to be aware of my

surroundings and remember my

experiences. The drawback is when

you are gone and time goes by,

my memories will only last for so

long. I wish I were God so that I

may remember everything about

you forever. But that cannot be. I

am only human. God is challenging

me to go out and explore the

world. I choose to explore your life.

I choose to store all of my

knowledge of you and me. I

choose to explore God's gift to the

world.

Hey Keki. Thanks for your comments. I read both "Eyes" and "Innocence Maintain" and liked them both very much. You are a gifted writer. Hope to read more of your poems.
