Downsizing my Dreams

by Timothy   Aug 11, 2004

I wished, once upon a time,
For riches and fine diamonds, and impressive cars;
I wanted a mansion; I wanted a pool,
I wanted to travel afar.

There was no limit,
By the measuring of my greed;
I was jealous of what others had,
An insatiable lust, I was attempting to feed.

Those dreams have scaled down,
It is no longer what I desire;
Seeing my children, keeping my new love,
Are the riches I now aspire.
