Il Castello di Memorie

by Bryce Ellner   Aug 11, 2004

A castle
Pristine against the sky.
Made of glittering crystal
Where spirits go to die.

A castle full of memory
A castle full of lies
A single structure, stand-alone
But seen not with the eye.

This castle of the heavens
This castle of the stars.
Never is it near
Nor never is it far.

Only a mental image
Only a fictional dream.
This castle is forever
Never to be seen.

Welcome to Il Castello Di Memorie
We pray thee stay the night
This is your world of memories
Your dreams, your pain, your fright...

You're correct, Il Castello Di Memorie means "The Castle of Dreams and Memories". Originally I wrote the poem "Memoria" for this particular subject, but I decided to re-read and then totally rewrite it. So this is kind of like Memoria II in a way. I'm glad you all liked it.
