Remembring Your Eyes

A few months ago
I looked into those eyes
of a total stranger
. . . and a new friend
But those eyes would look away.

As the days grew
Into weeks
I’d look into the same eyes
that sometimes came across…
but only . . . only when those eyes
Won’t look away.

And now . . .
I need not for those eyes
because they are looking at me
I need not grope for your thoughts
because I feel your thoughts
and I need not ask why
you look at me . . .
Because, my love
I see my face in your eyes
