I saw her sweet smile
When she left to see her new boyfriend,
She had true love shining in her eyes
But soon, her life she would defend.
The next week,
I found bruises on her face,
I assumed he had hit her
She could be hiding more, but she hid it with disgrace.
She seemed a little edgy to me
But I tried not to worry her,
Moments later, walking down the hall
Was her boyfriend, which set a frightened stir.
I knew right then and there
Something went wrong within those few nights,
But I was scared to confront her
Because seemed so uptight.
Later in the week,
I called her up just to chat,
I asked her about the cuts and bruises
But she steered away from that.
I asked just once more
And she began sobbing sadly,
I knew through her cries
That he had beaten her badly.
She knew from watching those many lifetime movies
That leaving the relationship would be tough,
But she didn't know how to do it
She knew he would be rough..
She waited another week
But more bruises were found,
I told her to get rid of him
He was no good to have around.
She told him two days later
That they couldn't be together,
I saw him slap her face
So he says, he wanted her forever.
She didn't show up to school for a week
She was too scared of him seeing her,
But she came back afterward
And he deeply stared at her.
After school that very day
He threw her against the wall,
She scraped her arms and back
And he liked seeing her fall.
I ran o her for safety and protection
But he kicked me in the face,
I got up very quickly
And ran at a fast pace.
I ran to a close teacher
And they grabbed him by the arm,
Then sent him down to juvey
And now she's finally safe from harm.
