Taleyah

Taleyah was gorgeous
All the guys swooned
But no one would know
That she was so doomed

On the outside she was happy
Not a problem in sight
But when she went home
She cried throughout the night

Her mother was gone
Moved away to Paris
Her father was drunk
And he never cared

She moved all the time
Never had a best friend
Her sad little life
She wanted to end

She found a spot
That no one would see
She grabbed an old razor
Did not notice it was rusty

The pain quickly faded
Adrenaline rushed in
The blood flowed down her thigh
Leaving scars on her skin

That rusty old razor
Was very infected
She soon became weak
No longer distracted

Her blood was bad
HIV they told her
She could not believe it
The tears seemed much colder

Her life ended at 30
It was all because
She was unhappy
It is what cutting does
