Foolish Pride

by Lost in Love   Aug 12, 2004

We are letting our foolish pride
Take us on a wild ride
We let it confuse us and mess with out minds
As it changes the way we feel inside

Backing down from one another
Keeping what we feel from each other
Slowly washing away our memories
This foolish pride is ruining you and me

We are losing everything from a lover to a best friend
Left with nothing but loneliness in the end
Not apologizing or talking just letting our love die
And what we have to blame is foolish pride

Sitting there thinking this isn’t right
Not wanting to call left holding yourself at night
Why let a love so great fall through
There’s only one reason I can tell you

We think if the other sees us cry
You’ll be desperate in their eyes
So we just let our future walk on by
Letting go of our lives just for our foolish pride

You do not want to be the one to give in first
Thinking it will make you look worse
Well let me tell you I’d rather give in
Then without my love then neither of us win

Just stop worrying about your pride
Or you will regret it for the rest of your life
You’ll regret never saying sorry or I love you
Sitting at home crying not knowing what to do

Because you let go of the one that means everything
Trust me I’ve been their I’ve done the same
Now I’m left with eyes full of tears heart broken in two
20 million what ifs and her not their to say I love you

so much truth to these words.. sometimes finding your way back is easier than you could ever think.. funny how we humans are so smart.. and yet we make things so darn complicated
