Gone Too Long ®

by Sarah   Aug 12, 2004

Time didn't stop for me,
though I wasn't around all of you.
The pain in my heart you all didn't see,
But I kept it in plain view.
I chose a life w/ the man I love,
to help raise his beautiful girls.
Their presence in my life was a gift from above.
Watching as their lives unfirl.
I knew in time I'd make amends w/ you all.
That if you all loved me you'd welcome me home.
You didn't let me down, you didn't let me fall.
The love for me to my new family you've now shown.
So kids have grown some and some loved ones passed on.
I may have missed out on that, but my family life has been complete.
You may think I was gone too long,
but to do it all over, most certainly I'd hit repeat.

I like this poem because I would also hit repeat. Even on the things that I wish would have never happend. I would not the the women I am today without taking the bad with the good. ANyways I loved the ending to this one. Great Job!
