What Is This Dream I Dream?

by Bryce Ellner   Aug 15, 2004

I feel it roll down my cheek
A single tear from mine eye.
Dropping not to the floor,
But holding for the sigh.

Closed are my eyes
And shut is my mind
This is the only real time
When I can unwind.

My friends have grown distant
On no shoulder can I cry
Is this life that I live,
A deceitful little lie?

Always a dark day
Lay cross the sky.
Never seeming to know
What is next that I find.

I see no sun on my horizon
I see no moon to light my night
I see only darkness everlasting
These are the sum of my fright.

The only true fear
Is the fear of death
But worst of all is a death
For which no one would've wept.

Is this what is to become of me?
Is this my destined fate?
Please tell me this isnt true.
From this dream may I awake

Then they start pulling me
Farther down and faster
To where I think I'll never know
But each dreams seems a longer laster.

Whether it is dream or true,
May I never find out.
Whether this is real of fake,
I will always have my doubt.

No one to tell to
These things that I see
Only a dark abyss
Where my heart used to be.

    I really liked this part
    "My friends have grown distant
On no shoulder can I cry
Is this life that I live,
    A deceitful little lie?"

I thought this poem had great rhyme to it. I gave it a 5 can't wait to read some more!
