MY GOLDEN NUGGET

MY GOLDEN NUGGET

She is a solid gold nugget, she is pure gold,
most people want her to have and to hold,
but, I found her one morning while strolling along,
then we strolled together just singing a song,
we hunted together, some nuggets we found,
just lying together right there on the ground,
we looked a long time, till she had to go home,
she'll be here tomorrow no hunting alone,
the next day I met her, my golden dream,
we hunted the mountains, valleys and even a stream,
our gold pouch was heavy, so we buried it there,
out on the prairie, not saying just where,
then we kept on looking in places we found,
lots of those nuggets just laying around,
we went back for a wagon, to haul in our ore,
t'was then that she told me, she was mine, forevermore,
I started to stammer, to stutter and shout,
cause I knew what she meant, what loves all about,
the sun in my heaven was shining like gold,
the day that she told me, she's mine, body and soul,
when most people now see us, they wave dont you know,
we give them a smile and a hearty hello,
she is my river of silver , the stars in my sky,
I really love her, and yes I know why,
all of her goodness comes from within,
and if I couldn't love her, it would be a sin,
I want her forever to have and to hold,
she is the end of my rainbow,
she is my pot of gold.
