YOUR BLOOD WAS RED

by Jasmyne   Aug 16, 2004

He has the power
to make the seasons change
the river flows for him
the winds says his name
I'm saved not by your skin
but because my blood is red
some say your black and others white
they question if u your real
and i wonder how u feel
to see your children fight when
your blood can wash away our sins
its real
it finds me when I'm lost
its greatness
die on the cross for me
it does not matter what color you are
as long as your blood was red
we may be different
but to God
we stand the same
every Sunday
we go different ways
and bring the Father pain
your name is higher then any other
because your blood was red
it dosent matter what color u are lord as long as your blood was red
IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT COLOR I AM
AS LONG MY BLOOD IS RED

This is good, and has a powerful message. Not that I am real religious (I do have a few Christian poems if you care to read them), but the only thing I would say that needed changing in your poem was that referring to God "your" should always be capitalized.
