Happily Ever After

by Kimberly Day   Aug 16, 2004

I sit and close my eyes,
A small smile crosses my lips,
My strong love for you makes me want to cry.
I see your beautiful face,
I can feel the touch of your hands,
Gentle as a ribbon of lace.
It wouldn't matter if lands laid between us,
As long as I can hear your sweet laughter,
I know deep inside,
You'll be the one,
To give me my Happily Ever After.

You call me on the phone,
After you've had a bad day.
You hope that I'm home,
You know I'll try to find all the right words to say.
And when I'm depressed,
You go a different way,
It's my own laughter I have to suppress.
For humorous words are how you cheer up my day.
As I hear my own laughter,
I know deep inside,
You'll be able to give me that part of the fairytale,
Our own little chapter,
Titled Happily Ever After.

And when we're actually together,
It's the best time ever,
And oh how I always wish time would hold still forever.
I always feel the need to touch you,
In any way I can,
And when you tremble beneath my touch,
What else can I do?
Besides close my eyes and think damn.
I love you so much,
You make me feel so complete.
My heart sometimes wants to pull hard on the clutch.
But then when we smile at each other,
Eyes full of laughter,
I know deep inside,
More then ever,
Forget later,
We've already started living,
Happily Ever After.
