The Casual Bubble Bath

by Perfectly Unperfect   Aug 16, 2004

Right now lets not be sexy
Let's not do our hair
Let's both stand here naked
Without a single stare
Let's take a bath together
Without sex shooting through our heads
Let's have a conversation
"Did you hear what Howard Stern said?"
Let's talk about politics
"So do you agree with Bush's views?"
"Well I liked the statement he made today
That aired on Fox 6 News"
Let's look at each other's bodies
Skipping the parts we most want to see
Instead of looking at my breasts
Look at me for me
Let's lie here in the bubbles
Letting our hands prune
As burning incense fills the air
Along with 40's tunes
Let's sit here one more moment
As we grip each other tight
Then maybe, just maybe
We will share a kiss goodnight

Love the opening line.. made me smile. Sometimes, we are sexiest when following the direction in your poem. To me.. real love works exactly like this.. funny how unsexy can lead to sexy in any given activity if you are with the right someone. That's love. Love this poem.
