Where Did He Go?

by rachyBBY   Aug 17, 2004

I tried to call him
But he wouldn't pick up the phone
Why wasn't he answering?
He had to be home

Is he avoiding me?
What's his deal?
Who's there with him?
There's no words to describe how I feel

His mom picks up the phone
And tells me he's not there
And he won't be ever again.
My curiosity was too much to bear

So I ask his mom
Where he is
And his mom starts to cry
But I don't understand any of this

I ask, What's the problem?
What's wrong?
And she tells me he's dead
That he'll forever be gone.

How did this happen?
I just talked to him last week
Is this some kind of joke?
I'm so confused, I can't even speak

She tells me his life was taken
A few days ago
She told me he was at a party
And things didn't go the way he wanted them to go

He left the party
As the sober one
Everyone else was drunk
So he didn't have very much fun

He was driving his friend home
But they didn't get far
Because a drunk driver
Hit their car

He tried to swerve
But it was too late
The car flipped over
His life, he began to hate

He wasn't wearing a seat belt
And neither was is friend
Little did they know
That that night, their lives would end

His head hit the steering wheel
And they flipped over again
The window shield shattered
He couldn't believe that this was the end

His friend started screaming
And crying for help
But it was too late now
They should've worn their seat belts.

A piece of glass
Stabbed his friend in the neck.
Going to that party
Made their lives a living heck.

He watched the blood
Stream down his friend's face
He knew that image,
He'd never be able to erase

There was glass everywhere
And he couldn't move
He had to wait for help
And hope they'd be there soon

A half an hour later
The police had came
And he knew his life
Would never be the same

His friend was dead
But he wished it were him
That drunk driver
Had made his life grim

The police took him to the doctor's
But he didn't get a good result
He had lost a lot of blood
And it was all that drunk driver's fault

How is it possible
That he has to die
And the other guy only has cuts and bruises?
All he can ask is, Why?

Why did this happn to him
When he didn't do anything wrong?
He was always a nice guy
But he was going to die, and it wouldn't be long

This world has two less people in it
And it's all because of some drunk guy
And that one stupid man
Took away the love of my life

So please, don't go and drink
And then drive, thinking it's okay
Because you might take
Somebody's loved one away.
