I think that you hace done a nice job here, using the sadness of losing someone that has left to write about, and how it makes you feel, those feelings, most of us have when someone just up and leaves, usually with no kind of explanation, they are hard to write about, because it really bares your heart to the public, I hope that you never worry about the rating people put on your poems, because each person gets their own feelings about a poem, and most people don't even bother to give a value to poems they read, why I don't know, it takes only a minute to give encouragement to someone, keep on writing and thanks for your comments on my poems.
