You Don't Know Me

by Perfectly Unperfect   Aug 18, 2004

This is one of my earlier poems written when I was about 14. It's been called "Avril Lavigne" and cliche (ouch!) but it really was how I felt at the time. All I can do is write from my heart...I didn't write this to please anyone.
-------------------------------------------------------

Who are you to judge me?
You don't know who I am
You think you know me through and through
You hardly know where I began

Who are you to judge me?
Is my look not good enough for you?
Well inside I'm not shallow and empty
I'm not a wannabe like you

Who are you to judge me?
You haven't seen what I have seen
So don't tell me that I'm a little odd
Don't say that I'm unclean

Who are you to judge me?
You don't know what I've been through
Do you know what it's like to be alone?
Do you know what it's like to be used?

Who are you to judge me?
When you don't know what it's like
To have a life as hard as mine
To always be told you're wrong when you're right

Who are you to judge me?
Don't criticize what I do
Just because everyone else is fake
Don't condemn me for being true

Who are you to judge me?
You're hollow as a can
So go on concluding someone else
Cuz you'll never know who I am

Awesome poem. Well written, very very good. Keep truckin' through life, because life sucks, but it WILL get better! Peace
