The Darkness

by Brad Champagne   Aug 20, 2004

The darkness of the encircling gloom
Is gathering near to those who care.
This dramatic show displays their doom
And ever challenged those who dare.

Of this life they'd had their fill,
A life of death and dread.
With no one left to hold they still
Are living on love's bread.

In former years, ah, younger age,
Yes, full of vigor and zeal;
These fine men were full of rage
And then their fate did seal.

Men of power, wealth, and mind
Were finding new ways to make
Weapons to destroy, the kind
That many lives they'd take.

Now in this hour they were released
On a foriegn people of their choice.
A wave of destruction it unleashed
And extinguished the human voice.

Yo nice one...in the third stanza...the line with zeal and vigour...it seems to me that those two words soound better then other way around...but then you'd have to find another word to wrap it up at the end......still...it grates the way you have it eh...
