Dying To Love

by alfie   Aug 20, 2004

I sit and watch as this small girl cries,
Hope and love no longer in her eyes.

Her heart is broken as she's lying here,
Losing him was her biggest fear.

He made her see how great she could be,
Taught her how to love and be free.

The friendship they had was one of a kind,
Now she wonders was it all in her mind?

He described her as no one had before,
Beautiful, amazing and so much more.

She believed every word as she thought it was true,
However, now she feels like the world's biggest fool.

He made her feel so special and loved,
She often thought he was sent from above.

But as suddenly as he came into her life,
He said he must leave and say goodbye.

He had to be cruel to be kind, so broke her heart,
Said his love wasn't true so they must part.

But every word he uttered was a lie,
Although his face showed no emotion, how much did his heart cry.

He thought it would be better for her to let go,
Than be told the truth he didn't want her to know.

The large burden he wanted to hide,
Was that he was ill, dying inside.

So rather then put her through that pain,
He let her go to start again.

So she sits here crying, not knowing he loved her in a way,
That she was on his mind twenty four seven, until his dying day.
