Fallen Tear

by Hannah M.   Aug 21, 2004

We met that summer night
the crisp clean air
I knew that it was so right

You held me close
I could feel the warmth
Kissed my cheek, tickled my nose

Opened our hearts
spilled our tales
This was how our love starts

So close we grew
to one another
It felt so real, it felt so true

Time we spent
out each day
That was when I felt content

About you
is all I thought
How much I cared, no one knew

So we got to know one another
I had to say
I loved you like a brother

I told you that I cared
and that what I really wanted
Was our love to be shared

I wanted you forever
and to keep us close
I would do whatever

You told me to wait
just one day
For you to get things straight

Why did you want one day
to not see me at all
All that time to be away

The next day I sat on the pier
awaiting your arrival
As I sat I saw a fallen tear

I looked up to see
you standing in the sun
Looking down at me

As you took a seat
I could see within your eyes
a sign of love's defeat

You took my hand
held it tight
Told me you did not understand

On the day you took a break
you said something happened
You realized you made a mistake

You were in love
with someone else
Your angel from above

I was not the one
you thought about that day
I was then defeated and outdone

You told me that you would
remember me and these days
Remember it as something good

Something fun and new
that happened that summer
Two hearts locked, a love did brew

So as you stood and left my side
you were able to walkaway
Knowing that my heart you denied

As I looked down I saw a fallen tear
that came from me
knowing you were no longer near

Very touching, again it just shows how painful love can be when our hearts our left behind with another. Great Job
