Once, Twice, a Second Time

by Princess Duckie   Aug 21, 2004

I usually second guess things
But with you
That wasn't true
I knew you were the one I wanted
The one that would bring me a new view
I tend to think twice about somethings
But with you that wasn't the case
You were something I wanted to have
Somewhat of an acquired taste
I knew that when I met you
Many year ago
That you and I would have a future
When and in what ways
I didn't know
We got together one night
Grew feelings within the days
Broke up in the afternoon
And now I wish you would look back my way
Sometimes you look once
And what you want is not there
Then you look twice
And a world of wonder you intend to share
If only the seconds
Were more like years
We might be able to see
What went wrong
Instead the years are like seconds
And I'm here with a trail of tears
I never wanted to let you go
I never wanted to cry
I never wanted to be without you
I didn't want to say good-bye
I wish you were still mine
I long for your touch
I miss those lips
That I loved to kiss so much
Tracing the lines on my face
I miss those arms
And their warm embrace
I miss everything about you
I miss things I didn't even know
I miss the fact that I loved you
And that I never got the chance to let you know
In a second you only get one glimpse
That's why you get a chance to look twice
Too all that you might have missed the first time
The second time is always nice.
